Ingredients
4ripe tomatoesrinsed
16ouncesfresh mozzarelladrained
1bunch basil leaves
2tablespoonsolive oilextra virgin
1tablespoonbalsamic glazeoptional
1teaspoonKosher salt
½teaspoonground black pepper
Instructions
Slice 4 ripe tomatoes into ¼-inch thick rounds.
Cut 16 ounces of fresh mozzarella into ¼-inch thick slices.
On a large serving platter, alternate slices of tomato, mozzarella, and basil leaves, slightly overlapping each one. Start with a slice of tomato, then place a slice of mozzarella on top, and finally, a basil leaf. Repeat until all ingredients are used up.
Drizzle 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil evenly over the salad. For a touch of sweetness, add a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon kosher salt and ½ teaspoon ground black pepper to taste over the salad.
