Ingredients

  • 1 16-ounce package cherry tomatoes, rinsed and pat dry
  • 1 12-ounce tub small fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • Fresh basil leaves rinsed and pat dry
  • Balsamic glaze
  • Olive oil optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers

Instructions

  • If necessary, drain the liquid from the mozzarella balls.
  • Take 1 wooden skewer and thread one mozzarella ball. Follow with a folded basil leaf. Add 1 cherry tomato. Repeat this sequence of mozzarella, basil, and tomato until the skewer is filled.
  • Place the prepared skewers on a serving platter or wooden board. Drizzle with balsamic glaze over the skewers.
  • Season lightly with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with additional fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve immediately as a delightful appetizer or side dish.

Notes

  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh basil, ripe cherry tomatoes, and high-quality mozzarella ensure the best flavor.
  • Balsamic Glaze: Use a thick balsamic glaze for a bold, tangy finish; store-bought or homemade both work well.
  • Serve Immediately: These skewers are best enjoyed fresh to maintain their vibrant flavors and texture.
